Mid-Winter Festival 2016

Since 1974 the AFTM has been here spreading the joy of the music from tradition.  There's a lot to learn - so we'll have workshops on instrumental and vocal styles, a whole day of great performances, chances to dance and places to pick & jam.

Bands on Stage

1:00-1:15 Mark Gilston will be the piper, leading everyone in to the auditorium. He may play whatever he likes after the initial piping.

1:20-1:45 Tur Swedish Swedish folk dance music from Lane Foster Harrell  and friends. Bring feet!

2:00-2:45 Redfire Stringband 3-part vocal harmonies and instrumental melodies to offer a refreshing mix of original and traditional oldtime and gospel songs and Appalachian fiddle tunes.

4:00-4:30 Danny Santos y los Bluegrass Vatos Danny Santos melds the inspiration of his Chicano heritage, a musical legacy ranging from Hank Williams to the Beatles, and a Texas-sized determination to create a unique mix of country/folk tinged with bluegrass and the blues.
