You think the music is amazing at the Austin String Band Festival? Wait until you taste this year’s Texas-inspired cooking. Come hungry! We will have brisket, sausage, and pulled pork prepared by our local BBQ experts - Seth and Beki Laird. The Weber family and our trusty volunteers will offer up some of the best festival food in central Texas: frito pie, tex-mex, salads, soup, “blue plate specials”, and fresh sandwiches.
Vegetarians and vegans are welcome at our table and we will do our best to accommodate food allergies.
You can even bring your appetite for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, we’ll have bagels, muffins, made-to-order breakfast tacos and more.
We also welcome back local coffee purveyor - David Alan - to provide us with local, organic, and fair trade coffee (both hot and iced) and fresh brewed ice tea throughout the weekend.
In the Austin spirit, we use organic and local ingredients when available and prepare much of our food from scratch.
The “mess hall” will be serving meals on Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning. We’ll have all the usual non-alcoholic beverages (sodas, water, juice), but remember that it’s BYOB (no glass).
Sara Weber, who runs the ASBF Festival Cafe says:
"We provide a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the hours of the festival - with prices ranging from $5-$7 for large portion meals. The Cafe offers REAL meals- unlike your typical festival fare! Every menu item is deliciously handmade including fresh smoked BBQ, organic chili and even lighter items like chicken burgers. We pride ourselves on offering the best vegetarian, vegan and locally sourced meals. Our menu is approximately 80% organic. We also provide bottled water, juice, tea, soda and coffee."
